1995 Ford F-250
This is my conversion. I started with a 1995 Ford F-250 SuperCab LongBed 4WD truck that had a 460 gas engine, and no transmission (was an automatic).
It now has dual Impulse 9" electric motors connected to a 4 speed manual transmission, A Zilla 2K controller, and 48 Golf Cart batteries. It weighs in at 8200 lbs. The GC batteries are the limiting factor. They are heavy and don't hold that much power, so I can only do about 30 miles at 55mph on a charge. I'd LOVE to get a Lithium pack, drop 2000 lbs of weight, and double the range. (AND get better accelerlation, which can currently be described as Leisurely.) I use a PFC-50 charger which can put a full charge in the pack in about 3 hours.
